Archer liked the Easter bunny from afar, but when we tried to get close for a pictures--the screaming began...we quickly walked away.
Each child was to "hunt" for 12 eggs--cousin Athena explained to Archer that she would hold his basket, and he could put the eggs in it. I totally thought he would pick up one egg, and lose interest--I was very wrong. He was walking from egg to egg picking each one up and putting it in the basket--just like his cousin told him too! Once he hit twelve, he kept signing and saying "more, more." It was so cute! Thanks to Athena, Drew, Jay, and Memaw for coming to watch and help in the hunt!
Yesterday, we enjoyed a tasty lunch and then it was onto our boys vs. girls easter egg hunt. The boys won--by so much, I don't even want to go into details, but we all had fun!
The group: Grandpa and Grandma Richardson; Aunt Jeanne and cousins Athena, Frankie, Jay, and Drew; Memaw and great Grandmother, cousin Ashlee, Mama and Dada
Other things I want to remember:
- Archer's favorite thing in his basket was a turtle watering can and the plastic eggs
- He would not eat strudel for breakfast--he was too into his basket
- I understand he made up for that by eating tons of Gerber puffs in the nursery at church
- Archer received baskets from his friend Kannon, Aunt Jeanne, Grandma and Grandpa, and Memaw, and the easter bunny--wow!
- He loves the cute bunny from his great Grandmother that plays "Little Bunny Foo Foo"
- Archer played in the sprinkler--with his new sprinkler bug toy (many legs that spray the water)--for a bit--would laugh and then cry
- He also played in his new inflatable pool--just stuck his feet in this time
- He really loved the olive salad and ham
- Grandma's table was decorated adorably, as always--I made some goldfish cracker and cheeto puff "carrots" to add to the decor
- Daddy finished his new bow, and the guys took turns trying it out (it is awesome!) Grandpa even got an arrow through a potato from really far away!
- Wulfy did not break a china platter this year, mostly because he was not allowed in Grandma's house--we knew the ham would be too tempting
- We listened to an awesome sermon by our preacher about "Easter People"--and participated in a great bible class about "Living Generously"
- The 3 of us wrapped up a great day with some McDonald's and a movie....(Archer went to sleep at the begninning of the movie)..."Return to Me" Love that movie--highly recommend it.
Hope you got to spend some time with famly and friends, and celebrate the LOVE and HOPE of Easter!
Luke 24: 6 He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 7'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.'
