There are many things I want to remember about what he has been doing recently--he is growing up so much everyday!
- When we introduced him to Elle at the hospital--saying "this is your little sister"--his first reaction was a big smile and a giggle
- He loves to sweetly kiss her feet--something I think she will get a kick out of someday:-) We took pictures so we will have proof!
- Overall he is very gentle with his sister
- He has gone pee-pee in the potty chair 3 times in the last couple of days--twice on the 9th, and once last night. We aren't "officially" potty training, but have been trying to get him comfortable with the chair over the last month or so, and he seems to be getting the idea of what it is for now!
- He said his first 3 word sentence--"No more birds." He was referencing that the birds had gone to sleep for the night.
- His first 2 word sentence months ago was "Pa, bird." He wanted to show his Grandpa a bird in the backyard.
- Have I mentioned his love for birds:-)?
- His love of birds may possibly be overshadowed by a new found love (or possible addiction?) for ELMO. He has an Elmo book at my mom's house, Elmo couch at Grandma's house, and a new ELMO backpack that my mom bought him for time spent in the waiting room at the hospital (which turned out to be non-existent--Elle came very fast, but I'll save those details for another blog post)....he has also gotten to watch Elmo on Grandma's TV, and his new favorite--watching Elmo videos on you tube on Daddy's IPhone. I think it is so novel to him, because he doesn't really watch TV (we don't have a TV). He gets VERY upset when it is time to stop watching Elmo on you tube.
- He asked for "ice" the other day--and meant ice cream. He learned that new word due to 5 family birthdays in the first 9 days of August!
- He still prefers fruits and veggies to sweets, and if given the choice between cake and beans would choose beans!
- He loves to sing, dance, and march. He has the sweetest singing voice!
- He enjoys coloring and stamping--I think he will be creative like his Daddy!
- He counted to 10 repeating the numbers after my Grandmother.
- His favorite number to say is 3, favorite letter of the alphabet is B, and favorite color to say is blue.
- He is starting to show more independence, and with that comes testing boundaries and a few more time outs than normal:-)
- It is such a joy to watch him learn new things--nothing like seeing the world "for the first time again" through the eyes of a child.
- We are blessed to have him as our son, and Elle to have him as her big brother!
