After reading Jen Hatmaker's
books - Seven and Interrupted,
I am now onto Barefoot Church by
her husband Brandon Hatmaker.
These Hatmakers make me think more about Jesus,
and action-
it's so easy for me to have good intentions,
but it's oh so much harder to follow through.
Convicting piece I read today in B. Hatmaker's Barefoot Church:
"Most of us hear about a need and sympathsize. But that's not
compassion. It's not justice. It's not mercy. Sympathy remains
only sympathy until we do something about it. Then it becomes
an acto of compassion: an appropriate response to the call of need."
Micah 6:8
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.
Have you read any thought provoking books lately?
