In Her Element

Elle started climbing,

singing, humming, and dancing

before she could really walk

or talk.

This little girl, as soon as she was

big enough, started dragging the step

stool from the bathroom at Memaw's

to the middle of the living room floor

and standing on it to perform.

We took her to a

"trial" dance class last night,

and needless to say -

my girl was IN HER ELEMENT.

She told me before she went in that

she was going to be shy to the teacher, but

that didn't last long.  Within one minute

she was in line with the others, hands on her

hips, tapping her little toes -

just like she was

born to dance.

She came out in between tap and ballet

to change her shoes, and said - "I wasn't shy to her!"

She was excited about the sticker that the teacher

gave her, and when I peeked in the window to

watch she was literally jumping up and down in between

dance steps because she was SO excited.

She doesn't have the leotards, and appropriate attire yet-

so she was in sweats, but before we left, she hunted

down a tutu to wear over the sweats, so she could

"be like a ballerina."

What a joy to see her so happy - and in her element.

I see more dance classes in our future!
