Archer had his 1 year appointment last week (1/26/09).
He is 29 1/2 inches tall, and 21 pounds, 13 oz.
He did not enjoy the check up, but giggled at the doctor after it was over.
He did not enjoy the shots, but waved bye (probably from relief) at the nurse after those were over.
He did not get sick or cranky after the shots this time!
He is the 25% for height and for weight. He used to be 75%, so I thought the drop was odd (last time he was 50%), but this is how the doctor explained it. They typically see a spike in growth during the first year--and call it the "well loved, well fed" spike. Once a baby hits a year old they level back out to their own genetic blue print. So he is doing great, and is right on track.
On a food related note: he tried fresh blueberries last week, and he LOVES them. I think they taste like candy, so I ate many while pregnant and nursing.
On a poop related note: (stop reading if you wish) he ate so many one evening that his poop was blue the next day, and smelled like blueberries! Daddy says we need to keep feeding him those blueberries!
